Not to be missed: the mosaics and Byzantine architecture of the Basilica of Sant’Apollinare in Classe, the mausoleum of Theodoric, the Basilica of Sant’Apollinare Nuovo. The unique shopping streets of the city center which is a UNESCO heritage site.
Not to be missed: the Malatestiana Library, the only example perfectly preserved in its furnishings, building and book collection, as recognized by UNESCO, including it, the first in Italy, in the Memoir du Monde Register.
Not to be missed: the Leonardesco Canal Port, full of shops and typical restaurants, the Maritime Museum, whose floating section is the only one existing in Italy, the enchanting Piazzetta delle Conserve and the streets of the old fishing village.
Not to be missed: the permanent exhibition of the MU:SA: salt civilization, the Camillone salt pan, the ancient salt pan of the 1959 transformation, the historic center, the very long seafront with the cycle path.
Not to be missed: Gradara Castle famous for the love of Paolo and Francesca, made immortal by Dante. Montefiore Conca, splendid medieval village; Montebello Castle with the legend of Azzurrina.
Not to be missed: the Three Towers, symbol of the city, the churches, palaces and squares of great beauty, such as Piazza della Libertà , from which the visit across the entire valley is enchanting, and the UNESCO Heritage museums.
